Dropbox Review

Dropbox is basically online storage not computer backup. It doesnt allow you to automatically backup your computer or files or copy your existing file structure onto your online storage. You have to drag files into a set folder on your desktop to store them. This is good for the odd file but for your pc backup soltution we are not convinced. But they do, do online storage well. Its simple and fast.

Features:

Dropbox method is keep things simple so they do lack features with other online backup / cloud storage providers give you. You can share files and folders which you have dragged into your dropbox, thats it really for features. Dropbox do have an iPad and iPhone app though which can be classed as features.

Summary:

With Dropbox all your files are perfectly safe and accessible through an online Dropbox account. Any files can be handled right from a mobile phone in the event a person is away from his computer. Dropbox is an ingenious way to keep your files online. Files from any computer or mobile phone can be accessed. All of these files are combined from multiple devices into one drop box which is available from any one of the devices as well as the Dropbox website. It conveniently works with any operating system or smart phone capability. These files can also be easily shared with friends, family or colleagues through a link or access to one's public folder.

Product Ideology:

Dropbox eliminates many of the annoyances of doing business online. A computer crash is as simple as fifteen minutes of restoring files to another computer from a Dropbox account. A project begun on the office computer can be completed at home without having to e-mail files. Bandwidth limits can be manually set with Dropbox so connection can be maintained without depleting it from others using it.

Security:

A valid concern with a system like Dropbox is security. With AES-256 bit encryption, the security available for Dropbox is similar to that of a bank. All files are completely private and can only be accessed by others if a link or file is intentionally shared by the owner.

Storage Space:

A basic Dropbox account is free and offers 2 GB of storage. If more storage is desired, a small monthly fee will purchase up to 100 GB for personal use or more than 1 TB for businesses with large combined quotas.

Ease Of Use:

Files can be easily added to a drop box, shared with anyone and updated. Updates are made to all devices and only on the information changed not the whole file. Even if something is accidentally deleted, Dropbox keeps a one month history of all files so it can be restored quickly.

Customer Support:

We found Dropbox support to be very FAQ driven more than human by phone or email. While the dropbox system is very user-friendly, Dropbox has tried to keep FAQs simple also. Users can access help by phone, forums and online ticket submissions if they need to contact Dropbox customer support.

quick one stop shop for all your data

A friend introduced this to me early in 2012 and i have introduced to several others. I like the sync facility and pesonally find that getting a new computer is so easy because you just install your dropbox and hey presto all your files are there. sharing with friends and family so easy. I find this better than a long file list to back up macs, pcs, ipads can all operate quickly and easily on my data - much slicker than backup files and sync files on other cloud storage. One stop shop for all your data.

Drop Box

I have been using DB for about one year, I have a national business and i have very large photo file that I need to store and send to customers, so I invite customer to my DB they can view as needed. Second, i can access my large files anywhere, works flawless for me...

Multiple User.

I've used DB for many years across every platform of business and apart from a few early small glitches, its performed seamlessly.
We loaded large multiple audio files so the radio station we worked for could access them world-wide, no problems.
I also manage multiple companies all of which now have key information loaded into separate BD accounts. From our phones we can quickly send all information to customers and clients.
We also set up a FBook file within BD in order to share info other than pictures, PDF, Word, Excel Docs etc.
Excellent service, excellent product.
p.s we pay for the largest capacity.

Review your charges please!

If Dropbox came with a $70/yr option of 100GB it would be better placed and It would be the most used clod storage option ever. Only bad point is it is still expensive when other provides are much cheaper.

No telephone support

I loved Dropbox until one day it failed to open and I tried to get support. Through email, I was informed by their customer support that there is no telephone support. After many emails failed to solve the problem and I was denied a phone call, I decided I have to switch to someone that has telephone support. Too bad. I liked Dropbox and I was a "paying customer."
