If you’re one of the Xbox Live users who’ve been affected by the company’s cloud storage outage last week, finding yourself unable to access game saves, then here’s a piece of news you’ll love to hear.
In light of the service downtime, Microsoft has recently announced that anyone affected will receive a thirty day extension to their Xbox Gold membership account for free.
‘It took longer than we expected to return to full performance,’ Microsoft commented upon fixing the cloud storage service, ‘as we needed to ensure the integrity of our user’s game saves.’
‘Whether you weren’t able to access your game saves for a couple of hours or days, we sincerely apologize for the delay and any inconvenience it may have caused. We can assure you we will also be doing a thorough post-mortem to help avoid such occurrences from happening again in the future.’
If you are eligible for the extension of your Gold membership, Microsoft assured that it will be automatically added.
‘We know exactly who was affected, and we will handle all the extensions on our end.’
