PC Backup

Trying to comprehend why you need to regularly perform a PC Backup can be difficult. So think about it like this…

Imagine every photograph you’ve ever taken, every song you have every bought or been given and every piece of work you have ever done. Imagine the first photograph you took of your first child, the song you danced too at your wedding and the 3 months you spent writing your dissertation then think about it all being gone in the blink of an eye. This isn’t a threat it is a reality which can befall you in seconds if you don’t regularly backup your PC.

Whether caused by hard drive failure, natural disaster or human error, nothing can bring back lost files…..except……PC Backup. Computer users who subscribe to some form of PC backup don’t have to worry about the threat of things they can’t prevent because they have put into place measures which will restore their files to their rightful home if the original were damaged or deleted. Although the trend is moving towards online backup there are other forms of PC backup still available. External hard drives, USB sticks and CD’s are all viable means of PC backup, but they don’t offer the same additional features which online PC backup can.

Safety is the main feature that online PC backup has over other forms of online storage. Files uploaded to an online storage facility are encrypted on upload and during storage to ensure they constantly receive the highest levels of protection possible. They are also stored on servers well away from the origin of the data. This significantly decreases the chance of the data falling foul of natural disaster.

I like to think of PC backup as insurance, you pay (somewhat begrudgingly) for it but may never use it, but on that one occasion you need it, it quite literally saves the day.
